Milestones:
2007 LAMILUX keeps expanding: Close to its 100th anniversary LAMILUX exceeds the 100 million EUR turnover for the first time in its history. Both company divisions - LAMILUX daylight elements and LAMILUXplan (glass fibre reinforced composites) - grow around 25 %. Dr. Heinrich Strunz: "Our company has a sound base." The number of employees also increases continuously. Within one year LAMILUX hired 70 new staff members, reaching a total of 400 people working at LAMILUX. Attractive und challenging tasks: for the trade fair in Hamburg LAMILUX constructed and delivered a huge glass roof with a dimension of 19 x 60 metres. LAMILUX draws the attention of the professional media with this project as well as with the participation in building the BMW-World in Munich, which opened in October 2007. LAMILUX was responsible for the planning and realisation of the entire control technology for smoke and heat ventilation, natural ventilation and sunscreen.
2006 LAMILUX invests: a new production line for our LAMILUXplan material went operational. 10 million euros went into this new building at our Rehau headquarters.
In 2006, some 340 staff achieves a turnover of 86 million euros on our 100,000 square metre company campus. More than 10% of our staff are trainees in five different vocations, from industrial, production, and process mechanics, through industrial clerks to technical draftspersons.

2001 Plant IX for production of the LAMILUXplan composite material goes operational.
LAMILUX Steuerungstechnik (control technology) now a separate division. Complex controls and automation technologies for smoke and heat ventilation systems for integration with facility management technology can be implemented quickly and flexible by LAMILUX.
2000 At the end of the millennium, LAMILUX is an increasingly popular partner for large-scale projects involving daylight systems, SHEV systems and control technology. We keep on adding the names of global players to our reference list: BMW, VW, Metro AG, Uniqa Tower Wien, Audi, Expo 2000 Hanover, Brose, Schenker, Bosch, REHAU AG, Neue Messe Munich, Deutscher Ring Lebensversicherung AG, Peek und Cloppenburg, ... Demand for our LAMILUXplan material is booming – particularly in the USA where it is used for caravan building more and more.
1994 Dr. Dorothee Strunz becomes a member of the board with individual power of attorney.
1990 The "continuous rooflight" product line is added to the daylight element program.
The production line VIII is inaugurated. LAMILUX produces glass fibre reinforced composite sheets based on a novel process that we developed ourselves.
1989 The LAMILUX Sicherheitstechnik (safety technology division) is split off the daylight element and SHEVS (RWA) division and established as a separate business unit; this reflects the significance of this future market. LAMILUX Sicherheitstechnik is responsible for project management, development and assembly of complex control technology in smoke and heat ventilation systems and its integration with facility management technology.
1987 The former corrugated sheeting facility is converted to production of premium quality LAMILUXplan composite material.
1985 Dr. Heinrich Strunz represents the third generation of the family to head the business.
60s and 70s LAMILUX Heinrich Strunz GmbH becomes a major developer and producer of various domelights in combination with smoke and heat ventilation systems nationwide; along with its glass fibre reinforced roll production this makes the company an important supplier of components to the building trade.
1955 The first domelight is manufactured. Known as a daylight calotte at the time, it is the first step on the company's path at becoming a manufacturer of daylight systems.
1954 As an old-school entrepreneur, Rudolf Strunz identifies the future potential of plastics for the building industry and launches production of glass fibre reinforced products. The product name of the transparent corrugated rolls: LAMILUX - "LAMI" to represent the technical process of laminating, "LUX" for transparency to light.
1941 The son Rudolf Strunz takes over the company, reorganizes production, and converts the company to an industrially-oriented manufacturing business.
1918 onwards Heinrich Strunz adds a sawmill to the company, develops innovative constructions for ready-to-fit wooden structures for warehouse and production shop building, airplane and vehicle building, and secures a number of patents in the process.
