Columbus Treppen and LAMILUX present their latest global innovation
The attic ladder and staircase manufacturer Columbus Treppen GmbH, part of the Roto Frank Group, and the LAMILUX Heinrich Strunz Group, a leading provider of daylight systems, have embarked on a unique collaboration. Together they have developed a new and innovative solution: They combined selected LAMILUX skylights with Columbus’ concertina ladder to provide easy roof access. Columbus Treppen and LAMILUX are the first global suppliers for this simple combination solution which entails shorter planning times for the construction of roof access hatches. The concertina ladder is compatible with the LAMILUX CI System Rooflight Dome F100, LAMILUX CI System Glass Element F100 and the Type F Glass Elements of the Upper Franconian daylight system specialists.

Continuous rooflights can now provide daylight in accordance with Passive House Standards: The new global innovation from LAMILUX, the LAMILUX CI System Continuous Rooflight Benergysave has been certified by the Passive House Institute Darmstadt. After the LAMILUX CI System Glass Element FEenergysave & FEenergysave+ and the LAMILUX CI System Glass Architecture PR 60energysave, the LAMILUX CI System Continuous Rooflight Benergysave is the fourth daylight element from the portfolio of the Upper Franconian skylight and building control system specialist - and the first Passive House certified continuous rooflight ever. These products have all been certified as "phA or phA+ – Advanced Components", which is the highest possible Passive House efficiency class.

INAUGURATION OF 20 MILLION INVESTMENT IN REHAU
LAMILUX is expanding and investing: In recent months, the family-managed company built a new production plant for fibre-reinforced plastics and a new office building at its administration and production site in Rehau. A total of 20 million euros went into the two projects. Attended by the Bavarian State Minister of Finance, State Development and Homeland, Dr. Markus Söder, the official inauguration and commissioning ceremony has now been celebrated.
DR. HEINRICH STRUNZ CALLED TO JOIN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S HIGH-TECH FORUM
Dr. Heinrich Strunz, the CEO of LAMILUX and vice president of the Chamber of Commerce (IHK) for Upper Franconia, has been appointed to the federal government's "High-Tech Forum". The committee, which is studded with high-ranking representatives from science, industry and various sectors of society acts in an advisory function, supporting the Ministry of Education's high-tech strategy, which was launched at the beginning of this legislature period. Dr. Heinrich Strunz's appointment at this time is attributable to his successful work as a medium-sized family business owner, as well as his role as head of the DIHK Industry and Research expert committee.
LAMILUX ACHIEVES HIGHEST TURNOVER IN COMPANY HISTORY
2014 was again a year of growth for LAMILUX: With sales totalling 190.5 million euros, the family business achieved the highest figures in the company's history, an increase of almost nine percent compared to last year. Recruiting of new staff across all skill levels continued unabated: LAMILUX now has 700 employees, 83 of them young apprentices – equivalent to an excellent quota of almost twelve percent. In addition, the company has invested heavily in its administrative and production site in Rehau.
