The big brick hall was used as a railway depot from the end of the 19th century until a few years ago. The hall along with the roof construction was was classified as a registered historical monument in 1996. Today the building does not only accommodate one of the most popular restaurants in Frankfurt, but also a shopping market and serves as district center.
