Spaces for play, learning and arrival
The “Emilio” daycare centre in Helmbrechts is a place where children grow, explore and find calm. Bright, open spaces create an environment in which children feel secure while being free to develop. The view upwards and the incoming daylight give the group rooms a sense of openness and spaciousness without losing the feeling of comfort that plays an important role in children’s daily routines.

Daylight for well-being and orientation
The LAMILUX Glass Roof PR60, designed as an inclined shed roof, brings natural light deep into the group rooms and ensures uniform illumination. The calm distribution of light supports spatial orientation and creates a pleasant atmosphere for everyday life in the daycare centre. At the same time, natural light promotes concentration and well-being – for both children and staff.

Comfort and function in everyday use
The glazing used provides excellent acoustic and thermal insulation, ensuring high levels of brightness alongside a comfortable temperature and quiet indoor environment – even with intensive use. An integrated ventilation flap supports fresh air supply without disrupting the clean roof appearance. The slim aluminium profiles, with a thickness of just 60 millimetres, integrate harmoniously into the overall concept of the daycare centre while maximising daylight intake.

Architecture designed around user needs
The project demonstrates how architecture can be specifically tailored to the needs of its users. The skylights from LAMILUX become a central design element that structures spaces, creates a pleasant atmosphere and enhances everyday life.
