For the fourth time, the Red Dot Award honours a product from the skylight system specialist LAMILUX for outstanding design quality. "The LAMILUX Flat Roof Exit Comfort Square owes its stylish appearance, which also positively influences energy efficiency, to the skilful interplay of form and function," says the award's high-calibre international jury.
Following on from the Architects' Darling, the new LAMILUX BIM and product configurator now wins the German Innovation Award as well – in two categories. In both the “Design Thinking” and “Excellence in Business to Business – Information Technologies | Industry Specific and Service Software” categories, the LAMILUX BIM and product configurator convinced the jury to declare it the “Winner”.
As early as 2019, LAMILUX developed a glass roof that could withstand fire and heat for up to 30 minutes – certified according to German and European standards. Now the skylight and fire protection specialist has succeeded in extending this protection for people, property and buildings.
Especially in big cities, where the number of floors in housing is sometimes limited and private gardens are rare, roof terraces are very popular. For this reason, LAMILUX has now developed a fourth flat roof exit in its Comfort series.
At digitalBAU 2020, LAMILUX introduced the pilot, and now the in-house product configurator is ready. Architects, planners or roofers can now use this service tool to configure daylight systems themselves – and download variant-specific data sheets, drawings, CAD data and BIM models.
Silver for LAMILUX – was awarded at this year's Architects' Darling ceremony. In the category "Best BIM Data Offer", the Rehau-based family-owned company won silver for its innovative and digital solution for the construction industry.
With its 3° inclination and outstanding design, the LAMILUX Glass Skylight FE 3° received the next award: The German Design Award in the category "Excellent Product Design". The skylight was awarded the Special Mention here.
The LAMILUX Glass Skylight F100 Circular has always been ventilated, but now concealed drives can also be integrated. In addition, a new type of upstand makes it possible to incline the element by three degrees. This has visual and functional advantages.
An inclined upstand for round Glass Skylights has not been available as a standard solution - until now. With the top surface of a slanting cylinder being the shape of an ellipse, instead of a perfect circle, the laws of geometry needed to be bypassed. LAMILUX has found a solution to this problem and can now reveal a new type of upstand available for round Glass Skylights.
With its 3° inclination and the Structural Glazing Construction, the new LAMILUX Glass Skylight FE provides for an even drainage. The result: A clear view into the sky and maximum incidence of daylight at all times.
