Scuola Loiano, Italy –
Spatial quality for everyday school life

Light for a modern learning environment

With two LAMILUX Glass Roofs PR60, the Scuola Primaria Roberto Mazzetti in Loiano, Italy, received a daylighting solution that combines natural daylight, comfort and safety. The systems create an architectural feature and contribute to the modern design of the school building.

A place for learning and discovery

The Scuola Primaria Roberto Mazzetti supports children during their first years of educational journey and provides an environment for learning, interaction and shared discovery. As a primary school, it plays an important role in the personal and educational development of its pupils, supporting them in acquiring fundamental skills and competencies. Bright and welcoming spaces define the building concept and create an environment that equally encourages learning, creativity and social interaction.

Daylight for wellbeing and occupant comfort

The two shed-shaped LAMILUX Glass Roofs PR60 provide natural daylight to the interior spaces and support their open design. The daylight gives the central areas a welcoming and inviting character and contributes to a positive atmosphere throughout the school building. At the same time, well-lit spaces promote the wellbeing of pupils and teachers and support focused learning as well as daily interaction within the school environment.

Efficiency meets daylight

The shed roofs combine natural daylight provision with the requirements for thermal comfort and energy efficiency. The solar control glazing allows high levels of daylight to enter the building while simultaneously reducing solar heat gain.

In addition, the integrated ventilation vents provide regular air exchange and contribute to good indoor air quality throughout the school. Daylight, natural ventilation and thermal comfort are therefore combined within a single solution.

Safety for pupils and teachers

In addition to providing daylight and thermal comfort, the shed roofs also fulfil important fire safety functions. In the event of a fire, the integrated Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilation systems support the safe extraction of smoke from the building and help keep escape and rescue routes free from smoke. In a building used daily by pupils and teachers, they therefore make an important contribution to safe school operations.

The LAMILUX daylighting solution integrates seamlessly into the school's modern building concept and combines natural daylight, occupant comfort and safety in a single solution.
