Bory Mall brings together numerous shops, restaurants and leisure facilities under one roof across approximately 54,000 m² of leasable space. In addition to retail areas, the centre includes a multiplex cinema, sports and fitness facilities as well as dedicated play and leisure areas. Daylight as part of the architecture
Designed by the Italian architectural practice Massimiliano Fuksas, the mall combines contemporary architecture with organic forms and open spatial structures. The LAMILUX daylighting solutions play a central role in the architectural concept. A total of 86 skylights were integrated into the roof areas. Due to their arrangement above circular ceiling openings, visitors perceive them as round skylights – an architectural detail that defines the distinctive character of the interior spaces.
A pleasant atmosphere for visitors and orientation
Natural daylight shapes the interior spaces of the mall and creates bright, welcoming areas for visitors. The uniform illumination supports orientation throughout the building and contributes to a pleasant visitor experience. Particularly in large shopping centres, daylight creates an open atmosphere that encourages people to stay longer and significantly enhances occupant comfort.
A daylighting solution with added functionality
In addition to their architectural impact, the skylights make an important contribution to the quality of the interior spaces. The integrated solar control glazing supports comfortable lighting conditions and ensures that the spacious shopping and leisure areas remain comfortable even during periods of intense sunlight.
The daylighting solution therefore combines contemporary design with the requirements of a modern shopping and leisure centre.
