PVZ Braunschweig –
Daylight supporting research

Creating space for innovation with daylight

Light-filled spaces and an open working atmosphere characterise the PVZ Braunschweig. Natural daylight supports focused work and creates optimal conditions for research and development.

Research centre for innovative pharmaceutical development

The PVZ – the Centre for Pharmaceutical Process Engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig – brings together expertise from pharmacy, process engineering and microtechnology under one roof. Researchers work collaboratively on new processes to produce modern pharmaceuticals. With more than 100 employees from 11 institutes, the centre provides an interdisciplinary research environment with modern working and development facilities.

Consistent daylight for focused work

Research facilities place high demands on concentration and the quality of the working environment. The installed LAMILUX Flat Roof Windows FE provide uniform daylight throughout the research and working areas, creating comfortable visual conditions within the interior spaces. The result is bright, daylight-filled environments that support focused work in laboratories, offices and development areas.

Open spatial structures encourage collaboration

The central atrium connects the building’s various research and working areas, creating an open spatial structure throughout the PVZ Braunschweig. Open sightlines improve orientation and encourage interaction between different disciplines, making communication a visible part of the architecture. Natural daylight accompanies these open interior spaces and supports a bright and collaborative working environment throughout the building.

Comfortable conditions for research and development

In addition to providing high levels of daylight, the LAMILUX Glass Skylight FE 3° create comfortable working conditions within the research and development areas. The solar control glazing reduces excessive glare and supports balanced lighting conditions throughout the interior. At the same time, acoustic insulation contributes to a quiet working environment, supporting focused work in laboratories, offices and meeting rooms.

The LAMILUX skylights therefore combine workplace quality, functionality and contemporary research architecture in a coordinated overall solution.
